    Mel Walker Illustrations and Paintings

    December 7, 2021 /

I am a recent college graduate that graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from Arkansas Tech University in December of 2020, and I am glad to have an opportunity to share my art with my Arkansas community in NWA. I primarily work with digital illustration and painting, but I also use other media as well, such as pen and ink, charcoal, and pastels. I specialize in human and animal portraits, as well as medical illustrations and other nature-based subjects. Commissions are open! Feel free to come to my table and inquire for details. I will also be selling prints of some of my paintings!

    Buffalo Bluff Reflection

    December 7, 2021 /

I enjoy working in mixed media, collage, and acrylics to create texture, building layers and giving the painting “history”…the hint of something beneath the surface that came before.

    Belgian Mules

    December 4, 2021 /

I ride horses A LOT. I do a lot of endurance trail riding, Wagon races, and so many other things. I am around a lot of horses, mules, and humans. I sometimes get to sneak a few photos. This is a recreation with colored pencils of a beautiful set of mighty Belgians.

    Bull Elk

    December 2, 2021 /

Every fall elk watchers travel to Boxley Valley, along Arkansas highways 43 & 21 in Newton County, where herds of elk graze in the open fields. A fall hiking trip was my chance to visit. This was an amazing animal, I decided to paint his portrait!
