NWA, You’re Invited: to share messages of love through art, August 10, 2023 – October 10, 2023

  • To submit art by K-12 students, non-profit organizations, artists, and others now through October for exhibit at Rogers Experimental House, 121 W Walnut Street, Rogers, AR.
  • An artist reception October 12 during Art on the Bricks Art Walk.

A personal invitation to educators to offer this project to your students!
Dallas based artist, writer, and Executive Artistic Director, Karen Blessen, and her team at 29 Pieces, created The American Love Project in 2021 and shares how this project is available to school age children and families in NW Arkansas.

  • Blessen is partnering with Art on the Bricks to invite  everyone from Northwest Arkansas to spread messages of love and kindness through art.
  • The exhibition will replicate public art experiences that Blessen inspired through the American Love Project, including 4,000+ works of art by people in 24 states and the District of Columbia.  

You are invited to help engage, involve, and inspire the NWA community and use art to teach, share, and live the ideals of love and kindness and be part of the Northwest Arkansas LOVE Project.

  • The mission of 29 Pieces, and the NW Arkansas LOVE Project, is to awaken, uplift and give voice to the creative spirit and to make genuine, positive social change through art.
  • Show your LOVE in Northwest Arkansas! Everyone is invited to join this regional art project.

Get involved: This opportunity is open to people of all ages. We invite you to participate. Seeking individuals, teachers, students, artists, non-profit organizations, church groups, clubs, and businesses.

  • If you bring people together for classes, workshops, meetings, parties, please consider providing a providing a maker-station for a fun client, team and community building experience. All entries must be square format on paper, 8 ½” x 8 ½” or 17” x 17” in size OR digital in any aspect ratio.

What to expect: Works on paper are welcome! No matter your age or your experience creating art, the NW Arkansas LOVE Project invites you to express what you love about life or about our region!

  • Schools are especially encouraged to participate and share this community message as the educators of the young people who are our future.
  • K-12 entries will be juried and the young artists who win will receive recognition and cash prizes.

Digital Art: Submissions of digitally created art are also being accepted and will be displayed during the October Art on the Bricks Art Walk, online and as part of an immersive multi-media experience coming to Downtown Rogers.

Think Global:

Help Hugs From Friends make an impact to Kids in Ukraine: People and kids in Northwest Arkansas stand with children and families in Ukraine. Artwork collected through this initiative will be sent to students in Ukraine through Hugs From Friends, a 501C3 not-profit based in NWA.
