portraits- various
Artist Stephen Seratt has always felt there is a connection between the young skateboarder he was and the street art scene from which he gets inspiration. To him, they seemed to go hand in hand as some form of urban expression. He also finds that this type of popular culture subject matter can have many meanings for many different people, which is great to broaden exposure/impressions it may have on various observers. Seratt tries to keep it fun and colorful as to maximize enjoyment–and he hopes you enjoy his art during the October 13 Art on the Bricks Art Walk.

Tales of the Fall
My name is Barbara Iglehart, I am a pastel artist and I teach art at the Wellness Center in Rogers Arkansas. Much of my work revolves around uncomfortable realities happening in our personal world and in the world at large. A world we have all lost control of both personally and collectively. We “carry on” many times anxiously, forced to deny evidence of mounting atrocities, in all areas of life, as we are adroitly led past the mounting horrors of this reality, being allowed a just a moment of pity or silence, before being steered to the next distracting pastime or thing of pleasurable interest. All this in hopes that…

Silver N Sage
Art & Metalsmithing come together with unique, organic hand crafted jewelry created by Christie Young using precious metals and all natural stones. Each piece is formed by hand: hand forged, hand fabricated, hand carved, and hand designed. Christie’s work in jewelry is an expression of her love of the natural world. The colors, the textures, and the way nature moves all fuel her creativity resulting in rustic, organic designs reflecting Christie’s love of the outdoors.

Emerge into the Light
I often paint with an impressionistic palette and use heavy textures and dramatic colors. I love the depth and uniqueness the texture gives. My presentations range from abstract to realism, but my favorite creations are tissue paper & mixed media on hard boards. I prefer palette knife and hand painting techniques to create “one of a kind” artworks. I feel each piece should become a conversation piece for its owner and allow the owner to interject their own personalities into the life of the artwork. One painting I did was of a woman in black, greys, and whites struggling to come out of the water with a suspended window in…

Gems of the Earth and Sky
I create works of art that consistently refine my skill and are inspired by the natural formations of crystals and geodes. I use glass, sand, iridescent acrylic paint, dye and metal leaf to execute the detail closest to the appearance of these natural gems. Arkansas’ state Crystal is the Quartz and I use broken tempered glass found in Eureka Springs from the size of a persons fist down to the size of dust particles in order to mimic the surface of the Quartz. Through this process I feel I bring a piece of The Natural States’ Symbolism into the homes of the NorthWest Arkansas Community. I find it intriguing how…
