DJ Raquel Performs in Railyard Park

June 10, Art on the Bricks Art Walk: 20-year-old, Raquel Thompson, aka DJ Raquel of Bentonville and a junior at the U of A, was born into a musical family. She started DJing when she was 11-years-old and has numerous performance credits to her name, including: performances at high school proms, youth conferences and Boys and Girls Club events, shopping center openings, running, cycling and crossfit events and a new year’s eve celebration. Early on, Thompson recognized that playing music was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life. “The best part of sharing music is being able to take people away from whatever they are going through and create an atmosphere to let the music heal them,” she shared. “I have been very blessed with such a supportive community and parents who push me to do my best with everything,” she continued. “I have been able to accomplish a lot and meet some amazing people, and I have plenty more things planned. I can’t wait for you to see what happens next.”

The Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society Jazz All-Stars Youth Ensemble and D.J. Raquel were added to the art walk offerings thanks to a sponsorship by Pel-Freez Biologicals and JKJ Architects.

(Alternate Rain Location for D.J. Raquel is the Ozark Talent Bank-114 S. 1st Street)
