I love the beauty of the flowers and birds in Northwest Arkansas. I try to capture some of that beauty in my art.

My name is Derek P Scott and I live in Bentonville, AR. My primary media are Oil and Charcoal. I’ve drawn or painted off and on for the past fifteen years, but became a singularly- dedicated student of oil painting about 5 years ago. My goal is to capture fleeting moments in time and create a reminder that beauty exists even in very familiar everyday objects. Every brushstroke, every mark, is a celebration of our existence.

I take all facets of my chaotic realities and alter them within my art pieces using color and light. Throughout each moment in my life, I create art with the inspirations and motivations that I receive from each unique experience. Without art; I feel utterly lost.
