    introspective

    October 13, 2023 /

Since 2000, the Summer of the Pandemic, Trevor Segraves’ paintings have become introspective and nostalgic with recurring themes of childhood and childhood dreams. At times they reference the disturbing absurdity of curret affairs. Images of his childhood toys, notebook origami, memories of pop culture and classic art come together to create a new narrative. Notebook origami is used to evoke schoolboy dreams of far off adventures and journeys, while the toy paintings, many depicting the death of Howdy Doody, represent the death of American innocence or a change in the collective knowledge of what America is. October 11, 2023 /

The Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent shut-down resulted in my two daughters, ages 16 and 20, being confined with me at home attempting to navigate online learning, social distancing and protecting the older members of our close-knit family. As time went on and I watched them become more and more depressed, unmotivated, and borderline hopeless, I not only became depressed myself, but angry because of the time and experiences that we all lost because of this virus. My studio became my space for healing and my…

Karen Wagaman is a watercolor, digital and mixed media artist. She has worked in watercolor and graphic design since earning her degree in studio art and business. Her dual love for animals and painting evolved into a fun hobby creating custom pet portraits. And now living in Arkansas of course she is a fan of calling and designing hogs. In addition to creating her own art, she is a promoter of the creative economy in NW Arkansas. She serves as VP of Downtown Development for the Rogers Lowell Chamber and has the opportunity to interact with creative business owners and artists and makers from throughout the region. The Ozarks |Fine Art Photography by Terése Conway

    September 13, 2023 /

Terése Conway, a Rogers-based artist, is known for her atmospheric photographs that capture the natural world with an ethereal and serene sensibility. Whether landscapes, florals, or still lifes, her images have a quiet essence to them through the use of a reduced and muted color palette. She is inspired by alternative photographic processes and incorporates similar textures to create a pictorial mood, blurring the line between reality and imagination, the present and the past.
