Karen Wagaman earned a degree in Studio Art and Business Administration and has worked in many mediums over the years. She always gravitated toward working in watercolors and enjoys the depth and vibrancy that comes through as numerous translucent layers of pigment are applied to the paper.

Her dual love for animals and painting evolved into a fun hobby creating custom pet portraits. She primarily does commissioned work for pet lovers who provide her with digital photos. The portraits may be purchased with or without a frame and she ships to art patrons across the U.S.

In addition to creating her own art, she is also a promoter of other artists and the creative economy in NW Arkansas. She serves as VP of Downtown Development for the Rogers Lowell Chamber and has the opportunity to interact with business owners in Downtown Rogers and artists and makers from throughout the region.

She is co-founded Downtown Rogers Art on the Bricks Art Walk, a free, family-friendly monthly program of the Rogers Lowell Chamber that showcases the visual and performing arts of regional artists while providing artistic and cultural opportunities in Downtown Rogers.

Wagaman is also a co-founder and member of the Board of Directors for the Rogers Experimental House, a creative art space where artists create, teach and exhibit visual and performing art. Studio, classroom and exhibit space is available for rent by the hour or by the month.

Art on the Bricks Art Walk and the Rogers Experimental House are extensions of downtown economic development by positioning downtown as a vibrant arts and entertainment destination location.
