Artist and musician Dave Floyd, while not inclined toward creating traditional painting, he recognized the potential of harnessing his imagination through digital mediums. Drawing inspiration from science fiction and fantasy literature, along with his affinity for music and nature, he embarked on a journey to blend these elements into cohesive and captivating imagery.

Floyd immersed himself in the realm of digital art and dedicated himself to studying various resources on the creative aspects of Adobe Photoshop software. The ability to manipulate layers, adjust opacity, and digitally paint specific elements offered a fulfilling artistic outlet.

As his artistic journey progressed, he found himself captivated by and advancements of artificial intelligence (AI) and its intersection with various aspects of life, particularly art and literature. So he delved into the realm of AI generated art. “The Coolest Cat in Town,” an AI generative portrait printed on a 24” x 28” canvas, depicts musician Bob Dylan personified as a feline and sold within minutes of the Artists of Northwest Arkansas Member Show during the June Art on the Bricks Art Walk. “This auspicious start, augmented by the limitless potential that AI offers, further kindled my enthusiasm for this new form of artistic exploration,” explained Floyd. His enthusiasm for art will be readily available as he demonstrates the technology in an interactive display at the Rogers Experimental House, 121 W Walnut Street, Rogers, Ar., during the July 13 Art Walk.

Dave Floyd founded a music business in Bella Vista, Arkansas that offers guitar lessons, instrument sales, music software training, singer songwriter collaboration and playing background instrumental gigs for clubs, restaurants, bars, events and house parties. He also teaches digital art.
