Embroidered Thread Paintings by Claire Pongonis
Claire Pongonis, is an artist who works primarily in cotton fiber and oil pastels. Her current work focuses on landscape-inspired embroidery paintings stitched on translucent fabrics that feature the directional movement of the embroidery floss, blocks of rich color, and the stitched foreground that contrast against the negative space created by the transparency of the fabric. Liz lives and works in Northwest Arkansas where she enjoys the colors, patterns, and textures of the world around her and is inspired by the beauty of God’s creation and personal experience. She is energized by the creative process and tries to communicate…

Indian Rajasthani Dancing Woman
I’m a self-taught, independent, versatile artist with whimsical thoughts that reflect my passion and interest in art. Inside me, resides a small little girl, who still believes in magic. She wishes to live in a world of magic, full of vibrant colors and emotions. A world where magic is embedded in every nook and corner. That belief is what inspires me, and I get my ideas from the nature of that magical world that somehow overlays on top of reality. Growing up in India, I have lived across different states and have been exposed to different cultures, languages, and art forms. My art style is an amalgamation of my diverse…
