Ethereal Lovers
Ethereal Lovers depicts intimacy, gender, nature, and tranquility within a relationship. This bond is shown through the materials used, the placement of patterns, and the flow from one person to the next, both rooted in the Earth. I used uncommon materials such as foam clay, gold leaf, and specific sewing techniques to advance my horizons. I also used techniques such as nerikomi, linocut printing, felting, and painting. I wanted to portray the feeling of finding peace, safety, and intimacy within a relationship in my modern twist on The Kiss by Gustav Klimt

Blooming by Laura Ramirez
The paintings come from an ongoing study of the built environment and nature. Patterns that exist around us have always been my source of inspiration. Artist Laura Ramirez collects memories from her travels all over the world and translates the emotions and qualities of nature and human touch that she has experienced. As a trained architect her work is, for the most part, structured and geometrical. She considers my work to be based on “place,” not a physical space, but the place created by experiences, experimentation and studies of my surroundings whether that is the sand at the beach, the mountains, details on a building or the woods. Every piece…
