Gems of the Earth and Sky

I create works of art that consistently refine my skill and are inspired by the natural formations of crystals and geodes. I use glass, sand, iridescent acrylic paint, dye and metal leaf to execute the detail closest to the appearance of these natural gems. Arkansas’ state Crystal is the Quartz and I use broken tempered glass found in Eureka Springs from the size of a persons fist down to the size of dust particles in order to mimic the surface of the Quartz. Through this process I feel I bring a piece of The Natural States’ Symbolism into the homes of the NorthWest Arkansas Community.
I find it intriguing how the earth can produce such beautiful stones. In order to preserve these crystals in their natural habit, and still be able to enjoy their immense beauty. I create life like works that echo the likeness of natural gems.
