As a child both my parents inspired in me a deep appreciation for color and composition. My father was an avid black and white photographer and my mother an extremely gifted oil painter. Both my father and husband were career military officers. We moved frequently to locations in the United States and abroad. Travel offered sights I first yearned, then learned, to capture with my camera. I have been a fine art photographer for 35 years. Six years ago I transitioned to creating digital abstracts from original photographs. I have been in shows and competitions in both Europe and the U.S.. In the past 10 years my works have been exhibited in 45 shows or competitions. Fourteen of these exhibits have been solo shows and I’ve been the featured artist in 9 group shows. A few highlights of my career as an artist include Photo of the Year in 1988 in South Carolina Literary Magazine, 6 major awards in the 1991 United States Army Europe Photography Competition, 15 images on display and in the permanent collection of the Jewish Center in Omaha, Nebraska, and my artwork in the Permanent Collection of the Arkansas Arts Council.
