Fiber Artist Lynda Warren of Fayetteville is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. She comes from a long family tradition of military service and has ancestors who served in the Civil War, WW1, WW2, Korean War are more. Her father is a retired Lt. Colonel from the Army. Lynda describes herself as a “Military Brat” and due to her father’s service she lived in many places growing up. She enlisted in the Navy when she turned 18 years old and her father swore her in (see photo.) Her creative energy is devoted to creating beautiful afghans including this afghan, Wrapped in a Rainbow, which won 1st place in the regional competition of Veteran Artists and is now competing on the national level of the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. Lynda also spends time shopping and going to movies at the local theatres. Her cow-girl persona complete with pink boots, spurs and a broad brimmed Stetson Hat and a makes her easy to get to know. She was a born cowgirl, born on the birthday of Western Film Star, John Wayne. She is also in the planning stages of investing in a rodeo bull named Zeus. Dust definitely doesn’t settle on this Veteran!
