Yellow Hat
I’m always looking for the unusual image or subject. I was shopping in Walmart and walked by a mother pushing her daughter in a baskcart. The hat caught my attention immediately. Then I saw the toddler who was wearing the hat. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to photograph her. With her mother’s permission. Here is the result in an 20×16 oil portrait five months later.

Forest Walk series
Artist Evelyn Jorgenson works primarily in watercolor, mixed-media collage and acrylic. She is heavily influenced by nature and the many vibrant colors that appear as one studies sunlight in the natural environment. A sense of wonder, inquisitive thought, and joyful appreciation of the natural world are ever present in her artwork. Evelyn has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Columbia College, Columbia, MO. She considers herself a lifelong learner and continues to take classes and workshops from professional artists.
